Target group:
New shop stewards and employee representatives, who have moved to Finland from elsewhere and are not familiar with Finnish labour legislation or collective agreements.

Tavoite

Learning objectives:
After this training, participants will
- Understand the structure and function of collective agreements in Finland
- Recognize the key actors and negotiation processes involved
- Be able to identify how TES provisions affect everyday workplace issues
- Gain confidence in their role as representatives in applying TES.

Esittely

Training Description:
In Finland, many of the practical rules governing working life—such as working hours, sick leave, and holiday entitlements—are not detailed in law but are instead defined in collective agreements (TES). This training provides a foundational understanding of how the Finnish collective agreement system works.

Participants will learn:
- What collective agreements are and why they matter
- Who negotiates them and how the process works
- How collective agreements relate to Finnish labour law
- The role of shop stewards in interpreting and applying TES in the workplace
The session is especially designed for new shop stewards who need a clear and practical introduction to the TES framework and their responsibilities within it.
